The Untouchables
The Untouchables directed by Brian De Palma. Starring Kevin Costner, Sean Connery, Andy Garcia, and Robert DeNiro. This film is my favorite of all time. I understand that not everyone has seen it but it is impressive both in it's performances and wonderful cinematography. Brian De Palma is also known for his films Scarface (Al Pacino), Carlito's Way (Al Pacino and Sean Penn), and Mission: Impossible (Tom Cruise). Technically stunning, this film takes you back to the days of Al Capone (DeNiro) in prohibition-era Chicago. This film is the story of Eliot Ness (Costner) a federal agent as he is called in to take down Capone. He befriends and old beat cop Jim Malone (Connery) who asks Ness "What are you prepared to do?". They also take in a rookie cop George Stone (Garcia) to help them. The crowning achievement of De Palma's career (in my opinion) this film is great on every level of the word, if you haven't seen it WATCH IT.
Trivia:
This film gave Sean Connery his one and only Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Robert DeNiro found Al Capones actual tailor to make him a suit for the film.
Jack Nicholson was offered the role of Ness but declined.
